Woman & Her Husband Charged With Neglect After Their 11-Year-Old Son Shoots Her In The Head

 Stacy Duggan, a 36-year-old Tennessee woman was charged with child neglect Monday after she was allegedly shot in the head by her 11-year-old son.

According to the Loudon County Sheriff's Office, Duggan's 11-year-old son accidentally shot his mother in the head after he found a loaded pistol under the mattress of a bed inside the residence.

Duggan was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center on September 4 where she was listed in critical condition.

Duggan's husband, Dan Duggan, was taken into custody and charged with child neglect for keeping a loaded gun within reach of a child.

On Monday, Stacy Duggan was also arrested on a charge of child neglect for keeping a loaded gun within reach of a child.

According to court records, Dan Duggan is also facing a charge of aggravated child abuse from an earlier incident in which the couple's son was injured in a car crash while Dan Duggan was driving. The child sustained serious injuries during the crash which have reportedly effected the child's motor functions.

Dan and Stacy Duggan are scheduled to appear in court on November 7 to answer the most recent charges.
