Arrested For Fracturing 21 Of His 7-Week-Old Daughter's Bones

William Olsen, a 20-year-old Minnesota man was jailed after he allegedly squeezed and twisted his 7-week-old daughter until she had 21 fractured bones.

According to police, the infant's parents brought her to a local hospital after they noticed she was unable to move her arm and her leg appeared longer than the other. The baby also cried as if she were in a great deal of pain.

When doctors learned the infant had several fractured bones, they transported her to the University of Minnesota hospital. Doctors there determined that the girl was suffering from 21 fractured bones, with 5 additional possible fractures.

Parts of the infant's body that was injured included the girl's ribs, legs, skull and arm. Doctors performed emergency surgery on the infant, but say the child may suffer permanent disfigurement.

During questioning, Olsen allegedly told police that he squeezed and twisted his daughter's limbs because she wouldn't stop crying. He stated that he was trying to get the girl to be quiet so he could sleep.

Olsen was booked into jail and charged with four counts of first-degree assault and malicious punishment of a child.William Olsen, a 20-year-old Minnesota man was jailed after he allegedly squeezed and twisted his 7-week-old daughter until she had 21 fractured bones.

Police Arrest 911 Caller After An Innocent Black Suspect Is Shot & Killed

19-year-old Kendrec McDade
A black 19-year-old man was shot and killed because “he was at the wrong place at the wrong time”.

When officers responded to the scene, they shot Kendrec McDade, a 19-year-old black man from the nearby city of Azusa, who died of his injuries at a local hospital.

But on Wednesday, the Pasadena police announced that they had arrested the man who made the 911 call, Oscar Carrillo, on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, because he lied to the police about the suspect being armed.

Lt. Phlunte Riddle said the police now believe that neither Mr. McDade nor his 17-year-old companion was armed. But when officers saw Mr. McDade reach for his waistband, she said, they believed that he was armed and that “their lives were in jeopardy.”“Mr. Carrillo is partly responsible for creating that situation,” Lieutenant Riddle said.

Mr. McDade’s killing, less than a month after the fatal shooting of the unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida, has stoked racial tensions in Pasadena, the city east of Los Angeles known for its annual Rose Parade. Local black leaders said the event highlights the need for reforms in the Pasadena Police Department, and have called for the Department of Justice to investigate.

“With African-American teens, the perception is that they are all gangbangers, or they are all packing,” said Joe Brown, president of the Pasadena chapter of the N.A.A.C.P. “It does increase the instances of shoot-to-kill with law enforcement, and Pasadena is no exception.”

Lieutenant Riddle said Mr. McDade was running from the officers when they saw him reach for his waistband. Believing he was armed, both officers discharged their weapons from “very close proximity.”

Another officer arrested the 17-year-old, who admitted they had stolen the backpack, Lieutenant Riddle said. The teenager, whose name has not been released by the police, has since been charged with burglary, grand theft and failure to register as a gang member, a condition of his parole, the police said.
But after days of searching without success for the guns, police reinterviewed Mr. Carrillo, who admitted that he had lied to officers about the weapons in hope that they would respond faster.

A lawyer for Mr. McDade’s parents, Caree Harper, said that the account her clients have gotten from the police since the shooting has been inconsistent. First, she said, the chief told them that the officers had fired 10 bullets. Then he revised the number to 8, Ms. Harper said.

She demanded that a full account of the shooting be made public, and said her clients had not ruled out a wrongful death lawsuit against the city.

Man Saws Off His Own Foot To Avoid Losing Unemployment Benefits

Hans Url, a 56-year-old Austrian man allegedly sawed off his own foot in attempt to avoid having to find a job.

According to Austrian authorities, Url's unemployment benefits were in jeopardy of being cut pending an appointment for a medical exam to determine if he was physically fit to work.

In an attempt to keep his benefits, Url reportedly used an electric saw to cut off his own foot in his boiler room. He then threw the severed foot into a lit wood stove to ensure that doctors would not be able reattach it.

Investigators say Url bled so much that he was close to death and called for an ambulance. When EMTs arrived on the scene, they found him covered in blood.

Emergency workers attempted to retrieve the foot out of the fire, but it was too damaged for doctors to reattach it. Url was airlifted to a hospital in Graz, where he was placed in an artificial coma due to loss of blood. His condition is listed as stable.

A spokesman for the job center stated that although he was missing a foot, Url may still have to work if there is a job for him. He had previously been receiving benefits due to an alleged bad back. Police are also investigating the case as an attempted suicide.

Man Beats His 3-Month-Old Daughter To Death Because She Was Crying While He Was Taking A Nap

Christopher Ryon, a 27-year-old Florida man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly punched his 3-month-old daughter to death because he wanted to take a nap.

According to Winter Haven Police, Ryon admitted to punching his 3-month-old daughter in the head because the child wouldn't stop crying and he wanted to sleep. The child, identified as Riley Ryon, suffered a fractured skull as a result.

Investigators say the child was discovered by her mother, identified as 26-year-old Kristine Bardell, laying face-down on a bed.

When the mother rolled the child over, she saw that the baby wasn't breathing and her face had turned blue.

Christopher Ryon started CPR on the child until emergency crews arrived and transported her to Winter Haven Hospital. The baby was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a 6.5 centimeter skull fracture likely caused by blunt force trauma.

Ryon was booked into jail and charged with manslaughter of a child. Bail has not yet been established in the case.
