Lenora Pruitt, a 30-year-old Dalhart woman was jailed Monday after she allegedly beat her boyfriend to death with a socket wrench, then then refused him medical treatment as he died a slow death.
According to the Dalhart Police Department, Pruitt beat her live-in boyfriend in the head with a wrench after the couple argued in front of their two children on June 15th.
Pruitt reportedly failed to seek medical treatment for her boyfriend, 30-year-old Cody Freeman, and reported him dead five days later. Officers believe the victim had suffered a brain injury from the assault, but could still move and talk up until the time of his death.

The couple's two children, ages 4 and 7, were inside the home during the attack and at the time of the victim's death. They are now staying with relatives in Clovis, New Mexico.
Pruitt was booked into the Dallam-Hartley County Jail and charged with murder. Her bond was set at $100,000.
