Man Charged With Cutting Baby Out Of Wife's Womb & Stabbing Infant To Death

Jeffery Reynolds, a 31-year-old Walker man was jailed Tuesday after he allegedly used a knife to cut out his wife's unborn baby before stabbing the infant to death.

According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the couple's home at around 11:15 a.m. after receiving an emergency call.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 28-year-old pregnant woman who had been stabbed in the abdomen with a knife or another sharp object before her unborn child was cut out of her womb.

Investigators say the victim, who was 7-and-a-half months pregnant, was rushed to a local hospital, where she is now listed in stable condition. The baby, however, was also stabbed and did not survive the assault.

Reynolds was apprehended at the scene, and was very combative. He was taken to an area hospital for routine blood tests. Detectives have not yet released a motive for the assaults.

Reynolds was booked into jail and charged with first-degree feticide and attempted second-degree murder.
