Christopher Ryon, a 27-year-old Florida man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly punched his 3-month-old daughter to death because he wanted to take a nap.According to Winter Haven Police, Ryon admitted to punching his 3-month-old daughter in the head because the child wouldn't stop crying and he wanted to sleep. The child, identified as Riley Ryon, suffered a fractured skull as a result.
Investigators say the child was discovered by her mother, identified as 26-year-old Kristine Bardell, laying face-down on a bed.
When the mother rolled the child over, she saw that the baby wasn't breathing and her face had turned blue.
Christopher Ryon started CPR on the child until emergency crews arrived and transported her to Winter Haven Hospital. The baby was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
An autopsy revealed the cause of death to be a 6.5 centimeter skull fracture likely caused by blunt force trauma.
Ryon was booked into jail and charged with manslaughter of a child. Bail has not yet been established in the case.
