Stoned Mother Drives Off After Forgetting She Still Had Her Baby On Top Of The Car

Catalina Clouser, a 19-year-old Phoenix woman was jailed after she allegedly got stoned, placed her baby on top of her car, then drove off - forgetting that her 1-month-old baby was on top of the car.

According to Phoenix police, witnesses called 911 around 1:00 a.m. to report that they had found a baby laying in the road strapped inside a car seat.

The child was unharmed, but was only wearing a diaper and seemed hungry. He was taken to a local hospital, then placed in the care of Arizona Child Protective Services.

Investigators say Clouser and her boyfriend had been smoking marijuana at a park earlier that evening when the couple - along with their 1-month-old baby - left at around 11 p.m. to purchase beer.

During the beer-run, police arrested Clouser's boyfriend for aggravated DUI since a child was inside the car while he was driving intoxicated.

Clouser, angry that her boyfriend had been arrested, re-joined her friends and smoked "one or two additional bowls" of marijuana before deciding to call it a night. She reportedly walked to her car, placed the child on top of the car, and then drove off without realizing that she had left the child on top of the vehicle.

Clouser discovered her error when she arrived home and saw that the child was not in the back seat of her car. She drove back to her friends' house only to find police officers processing the scene.

Clouser was booked into jail and charged with one count of aggravated DUI and one count of child abuse.
