Do you feel that too many blacks nowadays use slavery as a crutch?



SpeekDaTroof: As sad as it is to say, the truthful answer is yes. To be honest, I actually hate when people of this genneration blame slavery for a lot of the ignorance that goes on nowadays, and here's the reason why...


I feel like the generation during the times of  Martin Luther King, Malcom X, and numerous other civil rights leaders faced a lot more oppression and hardship than this generation ever faced...yet during those times, black families were stronger and we were more united as a people. It almost seems like the more rights and freeedom we've got, the less unified we've become.


A lot more of our people need to look in the mirror, and think about the oppression past generations faced and quit pointing the finger at slavery for their ignorance.
