Woman Arrested After Stomping Her 92-Year-Old Grandmother To Death

Rachel Armstrong, a 37-year-old Missouri woman, has been jailed after she allegedly stomped her 92-year-old grandmother to death because she "thought her grandmother was a demon."

According to St. Louis County Police, Armstrong allegedly confessed to throwing her 92-year-old grandmother down a flight of stairs and then repeatedly stomping on her.

The victim suffered two broken arms and eight broken ribs as a result of the attack.

Armstrong, who works as a nurse, told detectives that she believed her grandmother was a demon and wanted to beat the "devil" out of her before putting her to bed for the night.

Armstrong was initially booked into jail and charged with first-degree elder abuse.

Those charges will likely be upgraded now that the victim has died of her injuries. The victim, identified as Angela Armstrong, died Monday while she was being treated at a hospital in St. Louis County.

Prosecutors are now waiting on the official autopsy from the Coroner's office before presenting new charges to a grand jury.
