Man Arrested For Beating His Wife With A Coffee Pot & A Six-Pack Of Beer

Michael Wallace, a 40-year-old Connecticut man was jailed Saturday after he allegedly beat his wife with a coffee pot and a six-pack of beer.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the couple's home at around 11 a.m. after receiving a domestic violence complaint.

Arriving officers met with Chastiny Atkinson, the suspect's wife, who appeared visibly bruised from an alleged assault.

Atkinson told officers that Wallace was drunk when he came home and began to argue with her. The argument became violent when Wallace picked up a coffee pot and beat her in the head with it. Unsatisfied with the injury he had caused, Wallace picked up a six-pack of beer and began beating her with it as well.

Wallace then allegedly held Atkinson down, ripped hair from her head and attempted to choke her. When the assault was over, Wallace warned Atkinson that if she called police, he would have his revenge.

He then fled the scene.

Two hours later, police were dispatched to the couple's home again on a report that Wallace was attempting to enter the home. Police located Wallace sitting in his car several blocks away from the home.

During questioning, Wallace claimed that it was Atkinson who had assaulted him first. Officers found no injuries to support his claim.

Wallace was booked into jail and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, reckless endangerment, second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.
